VISION

 

Faith and Friendship is a forum of Christian researchers and activists working for the interfaith harmony and better understanding of one another’s beliefs, it unities people to create and foster religious tolerance and freedom in Pakistan through mutual respect and study.

MISSION

 

Faith and Friendship a forum of Church of Pakistan Lahore Diocesan Interfaith Relations is mandated to: Call the Diocesan Community to an increased awareness and understanding of its responsibility to interfaith relations. Provide material and opportunities to enhance the interfaith activities.

OBJECTIVES

 

 The Faith and Friendship has following objectives:

 

a)         Raising awareness and providing (in) formation about interfaith activities to the

      members of the Diocese.

 

b)         Organizing, mobilizing, and networking of individuals and groups working at parish

      level.

 

c)   Assisting research students to write dissertations and search projects on different aspects of interfaith.

 

d)   Developing and implementing programmes and tools for interfaith, which reflect the distinctly our Christian faith and spirituality.

 

e)   Calling forth new volunteers for interfaith providing them with adequate formation and support in their work.

 

f)         Collaborating with other interfaith oganisations and forums.

           

 

MANDATE

 

The Church of Pakistan Lahore Diocesan Interfaith Relations receives its mandate from the Bishop of Lahore. It reports to the Evangelistic Committee of the Church of Pakistan Lahore Diocese through the advisor to the Bishop on Interfaith Relations. 

FUNCTION

 

The Faith and Friendship fulfills its mandate through:

 

a)   Seminars, discussions and consultations.

 

b)   Providing information and formation opportunities for the people involved with the  

  Interfaith research and activities.

 

c)   Collaborating with parish leadership, parish groups and individuals involved to

                        this work.

 

d)   Collaborating with the other interfaith faith groups.

 

e)   Regular meetings and special gatherings organized according to need.

 

f)   Encourage meaningful interaction between the people from different faith traditions in order to promote mutual understanding and co-operation.
